JESSICA MALLIOS 

Jessica Mallios was born in Austin, Texas and earned her BFA from Pratt Institute and her MFA from The Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College in upstate NY. Mallios’ work has been shown nationally and internationally in numerous exhibitions, most notably at the Torrance Art Museum, Los Angeles; The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston; Arthouse at The Jones Center, Austin; The Texas Biennial; Houston Fotofest; Jen Bekman Gallery, New York; Scalo Project Space, New York; Affirmation Arts, New York; Vox Populi Gallery, Philadelphia; and The Mobile Archive Project in Tranzit, Poland.

In 2008, she was granted an artist residency at Can Serrat in Barcelona, Spain. She is part of the lens-based artist collective Lakes Were Rivers. Lakes Were Rivers recently received a 2012 grant through The Idea Fund, an opportunity funded by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
