Jessica Vitkus is a self-taught artist/crafter who specializes in textiles and embroidery. She was a member of the craft team at Martha Stewart Living TV and has written a book of projects to make at home called AlternaCrafts (Stewart, Tabori & Chang, 2006). Jessica also has a parallel career as a TV writer and producer. She produced for MTV News and Specials for many years. She wrote for Pop-Up Video, wrote and produced field segments for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and was Supervising Producer for MTV2s Wonder Showzen. She currently writes and produces for PRI's Fair Game. Her series of politically charged craft projects is now featured on Slate.com.
